**Looking for something different and delicious – the house specialty at the Shenandoah Manor is a red burgundy wine imported from France. This wine is a small appellation that is deserving of more attention. The vineyards are nestled between 900 and 1200 feet in elevation along a valley that runs east to west behind Meursault and Monthelie. The Saint Romain Rouge is produced from 2 acres on calcareous clay soil. The Pinot Noir is fermented in a vat with indigenous yeasts and pressing is done partially by foot. The wine is matured in barrels, for 15 months. Its attributes are medium-full color, with a classy, round, fragrant nose, medium-full body balanced, fresh and attractive with no hard edges.
